This gorgeous set was quite dark when we got them with really worn upholstery and tattered rattan on the couches sides.

We restored the wood and was so happy with the rich beech wood that Danish and English Mid-century designers use so often. We searched Reliance before and came up with local an office manufacturers.

The couch was the giveaway as the spring system is not local and the back mechanism that transforms the 2 seater couch into a sleeper with adjustable head and leg heights is definitely something Danish designers would do. I’d love to upholster this set but feel everyone has their own taste in fabric design and texture. I’d have the couch light grey and the armchairs a light sea blue maybe. Or who knows, we love the original Mid-century fabric, refined, minimalist simplicity. We haven’t replaced the rattan but advise clients to get their upholster to do it if we don’t manage to soon.
