Description
We found this beauty at a home out in Fish Hoek. The family was relocating and had to let go of most of their Mid-century collection. It’s such a pity we couldn’t get info on it’s manufacturer as there are uncommon features and white draw interiors that isn’t quite the norm for South African pieces.
The craftsmanship and technical details, intricate carved door handles and draws, the leg features, the top side rims and the curved shelf are quite remarkable. It was a well loved piece, possibly owned by two families as it has some nicks and repair work here and there as shown in the pics.
The back is sleek and appealing, ideal for an open space too.
Sideboards were originally used for dining and entertaining and were pieces of pride and stature. They work beautifully with minimalist decor, posters, plants and pottery and if preferred for TV and gaming too.
A much loved beautiful vintage piece.
