Lucian Ercolanii, the founder of Ercol in 1920, developed and enhanced the Windsor chair range in the 1950’s for homes. He used solid timber of which Beech wood was used for these 3 armchairs. The coffee table has a Elm wood top and Beech wood legs. The clean and modern line design , marked a significant change from heavy, dark furniture from earlier periods. Exquisite craftsmanship is evident throughout this simple, yet wonderfully elegant period.

height of wood frame 88cm and with cushions 93cm

The set belonged to a lovely elderly couple who brought everything over from the U.K. We hand restored the wooden frames, and kept the quaint original fabric. The chairs were re-webbed and the the table varnished and sold.
