1970’s Minimalist classic sideboard from Asko with beautifully crafted wood work, restored original ash wood exterior and original stained interior.

Two leveled shelves on the left side with 2 sliding draws for cutlery and napkins and a bottom space for extra storage. Asko, of Finland, had an amazing line up of some of the leading Scandinavian designers of the 20th Century, including Tapio Wirkkala, Maija Heikinheimo, Voitto Haapalainen and of course Eero Aarnio – of ball chair fame, most notably. We recently restored our Asko set and was overwhelmed by the lighter Ash wood that came through. We kept all the interiors dark giving it a strong contrast. Staining wood was very common in the 60’s. We prefer the natural wood grain.
